Area fire crews were in Rock this afternoon to battle a blaze that burned a vacant home.
Just before 1 p.m. the Winfield Fire Dept., with support from crews from Udall and Atlanta, arrived at a home in the 100 block of Williams. A vacant building and a tree had caught fire there.
Electric utility crews were also being contacted.
Damage to the vacant house was extensive and heavy smoke was visible from a distance. No injuries were reported.
A cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time.
