A 9-year-old boy was injured Sunday evening when he was struck by a vehicle in Wellington, according to Wellington Police Chief Tracy Heath.
Around 6:30 p.m., police and emergency responders were called to the 500 block of N. Woodlawn for the report of an accident. A 2004 Hyundai had struck the child.
Few details of the accident and how it occurred have been made public so far. Heath said the driver of the Hyundai was not cited.
The child was transported by Wellington EMS to a hospital in Wichita for further treatment.
