Winfield Man Killed In Crash West Of Ark City

54-year-old Kevin Davis of Winfield has been identified as the person killed in an accident on U.S. 166 highway west of Ark City Saturday.

Around 1:54 p.m. that day, the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office was dispatched to the 2000 block of US 166, west of Arkansas City, for the report of a motor vehicle accident.

A blue, 2001, Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by Davis, was traveling westbound on US 166.  A red 2016, Ford F150 truck, driven by 70 year old Haysville resident Mary Blosser, was traveling eastbound on US 166 and began to turn north onto 21st Road, into the path of Davis.

Davis attempted to avoid the collision and swerved, colliding with Blosser, causing Davis’s vehicle to go into the ditch and roll.

Davis was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Two other passengers in Davis’s car, 32 year-old Levi Andes from Winfield and 29 year-old Ryan Maldonado of Wichita, were transported to the South Central Kansas Medical Center.

Blosser was issued a citation for failure to yield the right of way.
