Train And Pickup Truck Collide Near Oxford Wednesday Evening

A small pickup truck collided with a train Wednesday evening near Oxford. The driver of the vehicle was evaluated for injuries at the scene and refused transport to the hospital.

Around 6:45 p.m., emergency crews were called to the 1000 block of 142nd road for the report of a vehicle and train accident. The collision occurred near Oxford, about half a mile east of the Cowley and Sumner County line.

The vehicle was said to have sustained front-end damage.

Thus far, details of how the crash occurred have not been released and an investigation is ongoing. The Cowley County Sheriff’s Dept. is investigating.

The man driving has not been named but was seen by emergency medical personnel from Oxford and Winfield. He then declined further treatment.
