Cowley County Sheriff’s Record for January 11, 2018

Vehicle slid off of the road in the 20000 block of US 77. Vehicle had minor damage and was towed. No injuries.

Motorist assist in the 21000 block of 112th Road

Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to 9338 202nd Road for a motor vehicle accident. Tera Topper reached into her vehicle window to start it and it must have been in gear. The vehicle rolled forward partially pinning her between her car and another vehicle. The vehicle also struck two other vehicles. This happened on private property and Topper was transported to William Newton Hospital for unknown injuries.

Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched to the 5000 block of 11th Road for a motor vehicle accident. A red 2004, Ford truck, driven by 17 year old Udall resident, Donna Braddy, slid on the ice and struck a railroad crossing arm. No injuries were reported.

Semi truck pulled into the parking lot of Henry’s Candy in Dexter and got stuck on a curb. Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputy stood by until the truck could be removed.

Sheriff’s Deputy took an accident report in the 3000 block of K15. A white 2000 GMC truck, driven by 48 year-old Winfield resident, Gregg Talkington was attempting to pass a white 2013 Ford truck, driven by 27 year-old William Bird of Udall, in the 3000 block of K15. Bird went to turn onto 29th Drive at the same time and was struck by Talkington. No injuries were reported.

Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 2900 block of Country Club Rd for an alarm. Building was secure.

Sheriff’s Deputies responded to the 12000 block of Cedar in New Salem for a suicidal subject. The events actually occurred around 2:00 PM but the subject in question was found in Winfield and taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the 29000 111th Rd. regarding civil issues over custody. Harassment issues were also addressed for anything outside the scope of custody.

Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the 33000 block of Tower Rd. for a runway report.

Cowley County Sheriff’s Deputy responded to the 19000 block of US 77 HWY for a report of debris in the roadway. The debris was moved.

Report of a suspicious red Chevrolet pickup seen in the area of the 16000 block of 141st Rd over the last couple weeks.
