Two Arrested For Burglaries At Ark City Businesses Last Week

The Arkansas City Police Department arrested two Arkansas City men Thursday after a pair of burglaries to commercial property in south Arkansas City.

Shakur Dequon Hardiman, 20, and Tyresse Jasper Boyd Hardiman, 18, both were arrested on suspicion of two counts of felony burglary to a non-dwelling and two counts of misdemeanor criminal damage to property.

They were transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail with bond set at $12,000 through Cowley County District Court in Arkansas City.

Both Hardimans remained in custody Tuesday.

Police were dispatched about 5:21 a.m. Thursday to the Cenex gas station, located at 801 E. Madison Ave., for a burglary report.

Later that same day, officers were dispatched at 7:59 a.m. to Greendoor La Familia Restaurant, located at 714 W. Madison Ave., for another burglary report.

After investigating both crime scenes, police identified a suspect. After further investigation, a second suspect also was identified. Both men were located and taken into custody.

All of the property stolen during the burglaries has been recovered.
