Mulvane Motorcycle Rider Injured In Accident West of Winfield Sunday

UPDATE 7:55 p.m. – We have spoken with the KHP trooper conducting this investigation. He informed us this afternoon that so far no citations have been issued.

He was planning to continue conducting interviews today before determining how to assign responsibility for the crash.

A Mulvane woman was injured Sunday evening in an accident that occurred on U.S. 160 highway west of Winfield.

44-year-old Heather Padgham was taken to Wesley Medical Center for treatment of injuries described as potentially serious but not life threatening. An update on her current condition was not immediately available.

Padgham was westbound on 160, driving a 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle, and was making a left hand turn when she was struck from behind by a 2015 Volvo semi truck.

54-year-old Gary Rice, of Wichita, was the driver of the semi. He was not injured.

The accident occurred around 6:40 p.m. and slowed traffic in the area for some time. The Kansas Highway Patrol Investigated.
