City Of Winfield Making Changes For Those Who Pay With Debit Or Credit Cards

The city of Winfield is moving ahead with a new credit and debit card payment format that will allow the city to recoup money it had previously lost to financial card fees.

Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover are accepted for payment 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week at winfieldks.org. You can also pay by phone, too, at 888-604-7888.

Cardholders can make payments on their own behalf or on behalf of friends or family.
They need only have some basic information regarding the payment, easily provided by
the City of Winfield, or located on your utility bill or invoice.

For added convenience, GovPayNet has a fully staffed, bilingual call center available 24/7, and will handle all cardholder calls and inquiries about any payment issues.

Cardholders pay a service fee to GovPayNet at the time of their transaction.

The city absorbed $118,000 in card fees in 2017. The majority of credit card sales are for utilities.

The City of Winfield has several no fee payment options available.

Pay by Cash in the office, pay by check or money order in office or by mail, or in one of our three drop boxes located at Dillons, Save-a-Lot, or City Hall’s 9th Ave entrance.

Another option is to sign up for EFT-Electronic Funds Transfer.

The funds to pay your utility bill are transferred from your checking or savings to the City of Winfield on your due date (which is 20 days after your billing date).
