Driver, Three Others Arrested After Pursuit Near Burden Wednesday

Four people were arrested near Burden Wednesday evening after briefly fleeing from authorities.

19-year-old Xavier Morris-Lolar, of Winfield, 25-year-old Paris Lolar, of Ark City, and 21-year-old Bailey Rivers, of Cambridge were arrested.

All three remained in the Cowley County Jail Thursday. A juvenile was also taken into custody, but was not identified by name in a sheriff’s report. That child was later released into the custody of their parents.

Just before 6:30 p.m. yesterday, the Cowley County Sheriff’s Dept. responded to assist Burden Police with a vehicle pursuit. A white passenger car had left Burden northbound on 221st Rd. at a high rate of speed following an attempted traffic stop.

The chase ended in the 18000 block of 72nd Rd. when the passengers exited the vehicle and fled on foot through a pasture. Those involved were eventually arrested and taken to jail.

Xavier Morris-Lolar was the driver of the vehicle. His booking charges included aggravated endangerment of a child, attempting to flee or elude, defacing ID marks on a firearm, possession of marijuana and paraphernalia, and reckless driving. He’s being held in jail with bond set at $20,500.

Paris Lolar was arrested on an outstanding, no-bond warrant.

Rivers was booked into jail on charges of interference with the judicial process and drug-possession offenses. Bond for Rivers is set at $6,500.
