Winfield Commissioners Approve Consultant Firm For City Manager Search

The Winfield City Commission approved a contract with Osenbaugh Consulting of Derby earlier this week as the city begins the process in finding a replacement for former City Manager Jeremy Willmoth.

The contract, approved 3-0 by the commission, will cost the city a flat fee of $8,000.

Winfield Mayor Greg Thompson told KSOK-NewsCow Thursday afternoon that it is the same consulting firm the city used when it hired Willmoth in 2016. Wilmoth and the City agreed to a separation contract on Oct. 2.

Thompson said the commission was comfortable with the decision to again partner with Osenbaugh for the recruitment of a new city manager. He said the commission appreciated the firm’s process during the previous city manager search.

“They are very experienced people in the area and in city government,” Thompson said.

With the holiday season near, Thompson said interviews for the position wouldn’t be until January or February of next year.

“We’re trying to move as quickly as we can without rushing it,” he said. “Last thing we want to do is rush it.”
