A local man was injured Wednesday morning in an accident involving an oil rig.
Around 10 a.m., emergency response personnel were sent to the 11000 block of 191st Rd. for the report of an injured man. The location is about six miles west of Burden.
Cowley County Sheriff David Falletti said a 38-year-old man was injured while working on a workover rig. The man was hit by a piece of pipe and sustained injuries to his head and arm.
The man, whose name has not been made public, so far, was transported by air ambulance to a Wichita hospital for treatment. An update on his current condition was not immediately available this afternoon.
