Ark City School Board To Consider Addition Of Cowley College Ag Courses

The USD 470 Board of Education will decide whether or not to add Cowley College ag classes to the curriculum tonight in Ark City.

“USD 470 continues to pursue a seamless pathway for ACHS students to transition into a 4-year degree at Kansas State University or Oklahoma State University,” stated the school district in its meeting packet outlining the question before the board. “We are pleased that Cowley County Community College can now accommodate courses for the ACHS Agriculture Pathway.”

According to the school district, USD 470 would purchase a classroom set of textbooks for some classes at a maximum of $3,000.

If approved, the courses would become available for the 2019-2020 school year.

Courses include Principles of Animal Science, Agribusiness, Economics and Crop and Plant Science.

The meeting will be at USD 470 Central Offices starting at 5:30 p.m.
