Ronald Miller

Ronald L. Miller, 66, of Winfield, Kan., passed away Tuesday evening, June 4, 2019.

Born April 5, 1953 in Winfield, Kansas, he was the son of Lyle and Lois (Thomas) Miller. He was raised and received his education in Winfield, graduating from Winfield High School in 1971. He then attended Cowley County Community College where he received his welding certification. Following school, he joined his father on the family farm in the Tisdale area, east of Winfield, as well as working for Duane Chrisler.

In 1973, Ron was united in marriage to Myrtie Moore at the Free Methodist Church in Winfield. To this union three children were born. The couple later divorced but remained friends. Ron spent most of his life farming and driving truck. He enjoyed going to the sand dunes at Waynoka, Oklahoma. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.

His family includes his sons, Justin Miller of Winfield; Jon Miller of Winfield; Joseph Miller of Dexter; his grandchildren, Braxton Miller of Dexter; Tristan Kohl of Arizona; Aubrey Harden of Arizona; his brother Gerald Miller of Winfield; and his sister Beverly Neal and husband, Jim of Winfield.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a sister-in- law Nadyne Miller.

A visitation will be held at Miles Funeral Service in Winfield on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 4 to 8 P.M. The family will greet visitors during that time. In accordance with Ron’s wishes, cremation has taken place.

Memorials have been established in Ron’s name for the American Cancer Society and for Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch. Contributions may be made through the funeral home.
