WPD: Winfield High School Employee Charged With Indecent Liberties With A Child

Updated: Thursday, 11:54 a.m.

A Winfield High School employee was arrested over the weekend and formally charged with one count of indecent liberties with a child, according to a news release from the Winfield Police Department Wednesday.

Authorities say a juvenile and parent came to the Winfield Police Department Sunday to report incidents that took place between the juvenile and an employee at the Winfield High
School.

After an investigation into the allegations, Brenden Jantzen was arrested and taken to the Cowley County Jail.

USD 465 Director of Business and Finance Tom Fell told KSOK-NewsCow Thursday that Jantzen is a custodian and also works in the in-school suspension program. Fell said Jantzen began his employment with the district in August.

Jantzen was formally charged in Cowley County District Court Wednesday.

He remains in the custody of the Cowley County Sheriff’s Department.
