Island Park Productions has announced the first concert of the Duck Jam in the Park Concert Series, Jacob Tovar with guest Ken Pomeroy, originally scheduled for Thursday, will be postponed to take place on Sep. 10, according to a press release.

The shows are planned and staffed by Island Park Productions, Inc., a local non-profit group. Local businesses and individuals have sponsored the series.

“Jacob Tovar and Ken Pomeroy have been great to work with,” said Kaydee Riggs-Johnson, Island Park Productions board member. “With so many shows canceled or postponed, he is excited to get his band back on the road and they are looking forward to taking the stage here in Winfield.”

Island Park Productions is still planning to host multi-instrumentalists duo Handmade Moments on June 25 with opening act, One Way Traffic.

While the show remains on the schedule, the Island Park Production Board will continue to adhere to be the recommendations of public health officials and is planning some special provisions intended to keep performers and attendees safe. For instance, attendees will be encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs, refreshments, and will be asked to maintain social distancing of 6 feet or more from those who they don’t reside with.

“The only way the series can move forward is to rely on those who attend to be conscientious about how they participate and to respect the safety of others,” Riggs-Johnson said. “Of course if we see a spike of cases in our community in the coming weeks, we’re prepared to change our plans. We know that there are a lot of people who’s spirits would be lifted by the opportunity to safely enjoy live music in the park, we’re going to do our best to make it happen.”

The rest of the concert series will include a “Big Fat Fun Block Party” on July 2, Josh Hoyer and Soul Colossal with opening act Jeremy Spring on July 16, and William Clark Green with opening act The Tequila Songbirds on Aug. 6.
