The Arkansas City Police Department cited a New Mexico man Tuesday for a traffic violation after a two-vehicle injury accident in north Ark City.

According to a news release from the ACPD Wednesday, Robert Gildhouse, 88, of Cimarron, New Mexico, was cited through Ark City Municipal Court for failure to yield while turning left in a blue 2020 Chrysler Pacifica van. He was not injured in the accident.

The Ark City Fire-EMS and Police departments were dispatched about 3:54 p.m. Tuesday to the intersection of Bryant Road and North Summit Street near Pizza Ranch for a report of an injury accident.

Officers determined Gildhouse was attempting to turn left onto West Bryant Road from Summit when he struck a southbound gray 2015 Jeep Compass being driven by Kiona Harris, 27, of Ark City.

Harris complained of neck and elbow pain following the collision.

She was transported by the Ark City Fire-EMS Department to William Newton Hospital in Winfield for treatment of her injuries.
