A Girard man was sent to a Wichita hospital with serious injuries via air ambulance Thursday evening following an accident in northern rural Cowley County.
According to Friday’s activity report from the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office, deputies and medical personnel from Atlanta and Winfield were dispatched at 5:13 p.m. Thursday to an injury accident in the 13000 block of 52nd Road.
A maroon Pontiac, driven by Arden Martinie, of Girard, was driving East on 52nd Road and struck a legally parked farm semi-trailer, the sheriff’s office reported.
Martinie was transported to a Wichita hospital with severe injuries.
