A Dexter man was killed in a single vehicle accident Monday evening east of Ark City near Grouse Creek Road.
According to the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office Tuesday morning, deputies and units with Ark City Fire/EMS responded to the 17000 block of Grouse Creek Road for a single vehicle fatality accident.
Upon arrival the driver, Tracey Johns, 47, was found deceased.
Johns was driving a white 1992, Ford F-250, northbound on Grouse Creek Road when the vehicle’s tires went off the roadway. The vehicle struck a sign and then rolled, coming to rest on the vehicle’s top.
The driver was ejected from the vehicle and the vehicle landed on his lower body. There were no other occupants in the vehicle.
The Cowley County Coroner has ordered an autopsy and no other information is known at this time.
