A home in northwest Ark City sustained around $25,000 in damage during a house fire Sunday night, fire officials said.
Around 7:30 p.m., Ark City Fire was dispatched to 825 N. Fifth St. for a report of a structure fire.
Crews found light smoke and fire inside the walls of the residence after they arrived on the scene. They brought the fire under control within 20 minutes of their arrival, then remained on scene for an additional hour to overhaul and extinguish all of the hot spots.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Both the Winfield Fire-EMS Department and the Udall Fire Department assisted ACFD in bringing the fire under control.
