Cowley 5, from Burden north to the county border, will be off limits to commercial traffic if Cowley County Commissioners approve the move this evening.
Concerns from residents have led commissioners to consider posting no commercial traffic signs along the roadway. That has already happened along other stretches of county roads.
Commercial traffic on these roads often becomes a concern because the surfaces were not originally constructed to accommodate heavier and larger commercial type vehicles.
Commissioners are set to meet at 6 tonight in the assembly room of the Cowley County Courthouse in Winfield. The meeting will include the naming of a chairman and vice chairman for the new year.
The meeting is open to the public.
