Ark City schools will close for the remainder of this week due to increasing numbers of cases of COVID-19.
“Due to the high number of students and staff members quarantined, USD 470 is closing all schools for the remainder of the week, January 19th through the 21st,” the school said in an email statement. “We will provide additional information about our COVID protocols soon. Thank you for your patience and understanding.”
A recent spike in cases in Cowley County has led to a shortage of rapid tests. County health official Thomas Langer today issued an order indicating that quarantine times for COVID-19 should remain at 10 days.
The order directly addresses the idea that the quarantine time could be reduced to 5 days.
