Work will start soon on surfacing of a 10-mile section of U.S. 77 in Cowley County.
The Kansas Department of Transportation project involves what’s known as an ultrathin bonded asphalt surfacing. It will be applied to U.S. 77 from the Winfield north city limits to the junction with K-15.
The work is expected to begin around June 1 and be completed around mid-July. During the work, traffic will be controlled by flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists should expect to stop and wait for a pilot car and expect delays of up to 15 minutes.
APAC Kansas Inc., Shears Division, of Hutchinson, is the primary contractor for the $1.1 million project.
