Citations Issued, Arrests Made During Holiday Enforcement Campaign In AC

Ark City Police made multiple arrests and issued numerous citations as part of its You Drink. You Drive. You Lose. campaign. That effort ran through the Labor Day Holiday.

The campaign had police conducting overtime saturday patrols to aggressively enforce Kansas drunk and impaired driving laws. Officers wrote three safety belt citations, 17 speeding citations and had 27 other citations and or arrests. Police Chief Eric Burr said 32 vehicle were stopped during the campaign.

“If you were stopped you hopefully learned from your experience,” Burr said in a press release. “You can count on this department to vigorously enforce impaired driving and other traffic laws, not just during this enforcement campaign but all through the year. We enforce traffic laws because those laws help everyone that we share the road with. We will continue to do so because, while the You Drink. You Drive. You Lose. campaign may be over; removing impaired drivers from our roads will continue.”

The campaign was sponsored by the Kansas Department of Transportation.
