In Separate Cases, Two Missing Cowley County Men Have Been Found Deceased

A man reported missing Monday has been found deceased in Oklahoma, according to the Cowley County Sheriff’s Dept. No foul play is suspected.

Rustin Michael Smith was reported as a missing person and was last seen driving a maroon 2014 Chevy Silverado extended cab pickup with tinted windows, wearing a multi-colored polo shirt, blue jean shorts and Hey Dude canvas shoes.

Then on Tuesday, The Cowley County Sheriff’s Office was notified that a citizen had located Rustin’s vehicle in some brush near the rural county of Osage County in Oklahoma. 

The Osage County Sheriff’s Office conducted the investigation and discovered Rustin, deceased inside his locked vehicle. They will be handling the recovery.

In a separate, unrelated case, a missing Winfield man was found deceased in rural Cowley County, according to Winfield Police Chief Robbie DeLong.

The man was reported missing by family members Monday. DeLong said the case is being investigated as a possible suicide. No other information is being released at this time.

The Cowley County Sheriff’s Dept. was also involved in this investigation. Sheriff David Falletti referred NewsCow to Winfield Police for additional info on this case.
