Sheriff’s Deputy was dispatched for debris in the roadway in the 22000 block of US 77

Sheriff’s Deputy assisted with a medical call in the 3000 block of 282nd Road

Sheriff’s Deputy took a report of a missing person at the Cowley County Sheriff’s Office

Sheriff’s Deputy provided a prisoner transport for the Arkansas City Police Department

Sheriff’s Deputy checked on a Winfield School bus parked in the area of 160 and 41st Road

Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the 15000 block of 141st Road for the report of a head on motor vehicle accident.  The investigation revealed that vehicle 1, a white 2002, Dodge Truck, occupied by Steven Mitchell, of Winfield, was stationary with the headlights off, facing south in the north bound lane.  When vehicle 2, a blue 1999, Dodge Truck, driven by Joseph Miller, of Winfield, came over the hill, traveling north he observed Vehicle 1, attempted to come to a stop, and struck vehicle 1 head on.  The driver of Vehicle 1, Steven Miller, was later transported by Eagle Med to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, Kansas, for his injuries.  Both occupants of vehicle 2 were checked by EMS and released.  The other occupant of vehicle 2 was a minor and suffered minor injuries.
