Two local men - and one juvenile - were taken into custody early Tuesday after a drug-enforcement search conducted at a Winfield home.
30-year-old David L. Carothers was booked into the Cowley County Jail on charges of possession of pot, paraphernalia, criminal possession of a firearm and contributing to the misconduct of a child.
20-year-old Joshua P. Pourciau was also arrested and confined on charges of distribution or possession of drug paraphernalia, possessing pot, paraphernalia, contributing to a child’s misconduct, criminal possession of a firearm and possessing pot within 1,000 feet of a school.
A 17-year-old was arrested and taken to juvenile intake.
Around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday, officers with the Winfield Police Dept. and Cowley County Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at 903 E. Eighth.
During the search marijuana was found in addition to what police called illegal handguns. Investigators also found evidence that marijuana dabs had been used in the house.
Dabs are a more concentrated form of pot said to have four times the potency of conventional marijuana, police said.
