Ark City Police Sunday arrested a local man for multiple drug offenses and also on child endangerment charges.
Chad Jarrod Adams Sr., 29, of Ark City, was arrested for no drug tax stamp, possession of drug-sale paraphernalia, possession with intent to sell marijuana and two counts of endangering a child.
He was transported to and booked into the Cowley County Jail with bond set at $12,000. Adams since has posted bond and been released.
Police were dispatched about 3 p.m. Sunday to a residence in the 400 block of West Bryant Road to investigate an odor of a controlled substance. They located the source of the odor and contacted the resident at that location.
A drug investigation ensued and a search warrant was executed at the home. During that search, officers found several items of evidence, including what was described only as a “large amount of marijuana” and drug paraphernalia, and collected them.
They also found an environment that was deemed to be dangerous to the two children, ages three and seven, who were living in the residence. The suspect was said to have consumed the illegal substance.
He was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.
