Shawn M. Darnell was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail Friday evening in connection with a shooting investigation in that county.

Darnell was the suspect arrested late Thursday following an hours-long standoff with law enforcement that occurred at Canterbury Village Apartments in Winfield.

He is facing charges that include aggravated battery causing great bodily harm, aggravated robbery and aggravated kidnapping. Bond for Darnell was set at $500,000.

The 37-year-old Darnell is a previously-convicted felon, according to Kansas Dept. of Corrections records.

Darnell, according to a report from the Wichita Eagle, is a suspect in a case involving a home invasion, robbery and double shooting earlier this month near Valley Center.

A second suspect in the case was arrested in Wichita on Friday.
