A snow and blowing snow advisory for this area remains in effect from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service.
A winter storm will bring 2 to 5 inches of snow to the area tonight and through Saturday. The highest amounts are expected to be west of the Kansas turnpike where up to five inches will be possible. North winds of 1 5 to 25 miles an hour cause blowing and drifting of snow.
A blowing snow advisory means that visibilities will be limited due to a combination of falling and blowing snow. The weather service advises to use caution when traveling, especially in open areas.
