A brief pursuit in Ark City Monday ended shortly after a suspect from Wichita crashed a stolen pickup truck, police said.
The white Ford truck was reported stolen from the area of Sixth and Madison just before 1 p.m. Kenneth D. Tyler was the owner of the vehicle, according to a report from Ark City Police.
Minutes later, officers saw the truck in the area of Second and Lincoln and a short pursuit began. The chase continued to the intersection of Second and Fillmore, where the driver crashed the truck, causing extensive damage.
The suspect, Sean Michael Gisick, 22, then fled the scene on foot and eluded police briefly before being apprehended in the 1400 block of S. Summit.
Gisick is facing charges that could include, motor vehicle theft, driving while license is canceled or suspended, interference with law enforcement, attempting to elude, reckless driving, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to report an accident.
He was booked into the Cowley County Jail with bond set at $6,000. He remained in jail on Tuesday, according to jail records.
