Winfield hospital names Quinton as new CEO

J. Ben Quinton has been chosen as the new CEO for William Newton Hospital in Winfield, hospital board chairman Steve McSpadden said Tuesday. His first day on the job will be March 18.

He will replace Richard Vaught who is retiring after 23 years administrator and CEO. Quinton currently serves as interim administrator at Towner County Medical Center in Cando, N.D.

Search firm B.E. Smith led the nationwide effort to recruit a new CEO.

Quinton also has served as chief executive officer for Lander Regional Hospital and Evanston Regional Hospital in Wyoming, and Rooks County Health Center in Plainville, Kan.

He earned a masterís degree in healthcare administration from the University of Missouri in Columbia and a bachelorís degree in psychology from Brigham University in Provo, Utah.

He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.

Quinton is married to Cathleen and they have six children ages four through 19.
