Details have emerged regarding an incident involving shots fired on the New Year Holiday at a bar in Ark City.

Police released a brief, written report Sunday about an incident that occurred early last Tuesday at the Whiskey Barrel, 609 W. Madison. Officers were called there just before 1 a.m. for a report that some had fired a gun at the bar, then fled in a pickup truck.

Investigators arrived and were told Sean T. Billings, 29, Ark City, had reportedly threatened patrons of the bar following an argument. He then fired a gun.

No injuries were reported.

Billings was located a short time later in the 800 block of North C Street. Officers recovered a firearm and arrested Billings.

He is facing charges for aggravated assault, criminal threat and DUI. He was booked into jail around 3:40 a.m. and was released on $11,000 bond by 4:40 p.m.

Jeffrey L. Mangrum, 46, Ark City, was with Billings at the time of his arrest and Mangrum was cited for disorderly conduct.

The incident was one of two confirmed shots fired occurrences that area police investigated on the New Year Holiday. No suspect has been identified in a shots fired incident that NewsCow reported to you last week.

That incident occurred in Winfield.
