A Wellington man was arrested this morning in connection with a crash last year that killed Mary Anne Towne of Ark City.

Allen Greeno, 47, was arrested on a warrant issued through Cowley County Dist. Court charging him with involuntary manslaughter in commission of a DUI and driving under the influence. He was booked into jail in Winfield just before 10 a.m., posted $7,500 bond and was released within an hour.

Early on March 21, 2012, Greeno was driving when he missed a curve near U.S. 77 and Country Club Rd., south of Winfield. The vehicle, a Greeno Industries utility truck, left the roadway and struck a tree. Towne, 51, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Greeno recovered from minor injuries and evidence in the case was forwarded to the county attorney’s office for consideration. Sumner County authorities arrested Greeno at his home Wednesday morning and he was then transferred into the custody of Cowley authorities.
