Two people were arrested - and a Winfield home was searched Wednesday night - in what has been a spurt of activity for local drug-enforcement authorities.
Local police, Cowley County Sheriff Deputies and Southern Kansas SWAT officers assisted the county drug task force and KBI in the execution of a search warrant at 410 McCabe. The search turned up what was described as a small quantity of meth and some drug paraphernalia.
The items were seized as evidence in the investigation.
Law enforcement officials said the warrant was obtained as part of an ongoing drug investigation.
Gina Rochelle Gleason, 35, and Tyler Dru Shafer, 33, both of Winfield, were booked into the county jail on possession charges. Bond for both is set at $6,000 and they remained in jail this morning.
Additional charges for probation violations also are likely for one or both of the suspects, officials said Thursday.
The bust was conducted around 8 p.m.
