Police in Ark City are looking for a driver who struck a moped and rider Saturday night in the north part of town, then dragged the moped for two blocks.
Investigating officers were called to Eighth St. and Skyline Ave. around 9:50 p.m. and found the moped abandoned in the roadway. Police then found a 57-year-old man who reported being struck by a vehicle about two blocks south on Eighth St.
The rider told police he was northbound when the vehicle approached him from behind and struck the moped. Impact from the collision is said to have sent the rider into the windshield of the vehicle and over the top of the car.
Police said the suspect vehicle fled the scene and dragged the moped about two blocks, where it was found by authorities.
A suspect was located at Meadow Walk apartments in Ark City.
Carlos Cristobal Castro, 22, was identified as a passenger in the suspect vehicle at the time of the crash. He is facing counts of failing to report an accident and failing to render aid.
Castro also was found to have an active warrant through Ark City municipal court. He was arrested and had bond set at $1,223, according to a report from police.
Officers are continuing to work to locate the suspected driver of the hit and run vehicle.
