Reorganization and cost cutting efforts continued at Cowley County Mental Health and Counseling Center Thursday.
The organization has eliminated three department head positions, multiple sources confirmed. Gone are the risk manager, CBS director and IT director, who also managed transportation and maintenance.
Employees, who spoke with NewsCow and KSOK News on condition they not be identified by name, said the announcements were made today.
Other employees have been asked to take pay cuts, the workers said.
Interim executive director Brenda Brown was not immediately available for comment late Thursday afternoon.
Those with knowledge of the organizationís budgetary situation, said the cost-cutting effort is expected to save close to $190,000 annually.
Cowley County Mental Health experienced a cash shortfall in December that led to the firing of executive director Brad Base.
County commissioners approved advance payments to the organization so that Cowley Mental Health could make payroll. The organization also has been extended a $200,000 credit line from the county.
