Two people were injured Monday morning in a crash near the entrance to the Broadway Sports Complex in south Winfield.

Around 11:30 a.m., a John Deere Gator was westbound from the complex when it failed to stop at a stop sign. The utility vehicle entered Broadway and struck a southbound Ford truck-SUV, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

The Ford rolled once before coming to rest back on its wheels.

The sports complex is located at 2225 Broadway, just off the K-360 Bypass.

Brandi D. Chisholm, 42, Winfield, was the driver of the Ford. She was transported to Wesley Medical Center by air ambulance and was listed in fair condition by 5:30 p.m., according to a hospital spokesperson.

Shane Shorter, 39, Ponca City, was a passenger in the Chisholm vehicle. He was uninjured. Both Chisholm and Shorter were wearing seat belts.

Michael Thornton, 44, Wichita, was the driver of the Gator. He was transported to William Newton Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
