Beth Wilke and Merrill Gordon have taken their spots on the three-member Winfield City Commission.

The two new commissioners were sworn in Monday night. On April 2, Wilke won a four-year term on the commission and Gordon earned a two-year term.

Greg Thompson is to serve as the city’s mayor for a year a under long established system for rotating who serves in the office. Wilke and Gordon will also serve stints as mayor during their terms.

The two replace Taggart Wall and Tom McNeish who opted not to seek new terms on the city commission.

Wall had served as Winfield’s youngest mayor and finished a four-year term this week. McNeish had ten years of service with the commission.
