A female teacher at Winfield High School has been placed on paid administrative leave while authorities investigate allegations of improper sexual conduct involving students.

Superintendent J.K. Campbell would say only that someone had been placed on paid leave while the matter is being investigated by the Winfield Police Department.

That teacher was not at the school on Monday. NewsCow will only release her name should she be formally charged or relieved of her duties permanently.

Cowley County Attorney Chris Smith said he could not comment on the investigation at this time.
