Two people were arrested Tuesday afternoon following the search of an Ark City home that stemmed from a report made by a local resident.
In June, police were made aware of potential drug activity at a home at 230 Meek Ave. Subsequent investigation led authorities to believe drug activity was taking place there and a search warrant was obtained.
During the search, police - with assistance from the Cowley County Drug Task Force and sheriff’s dept. - uncovered evidence that led to arrests.
Chalen Tickel, 29, Ark City, is facing charges for possession with intent to distribute a narcotic within 1,000 feet of a school, arranging drug sales using a communication device, possession of a hallucinogen and other possession charges. Her bond was set at $27,000 and she remained in jail this morning.
Jacob Matthew Tickel, 27, Winfield, is facing drug possession charges and had his bond set at $6,000. He was still in jail this morning as well.
Police also located William Timothy McCoy, 44, of Winfield, at the residence. He was arrested on warrants for rape, aggravated battery, criminal threat and failure to appear. Authorities had been looking for him for some time.
He was arrested and sent to jail where he is being held without bond for failure to appear and bond of $40,000 for the remaining offenses.
