Burglary at Sheldon's is July Crime of Month

Ark City Police are seeking tips from the public to find the person or people responsible for burglarizing Sheldon’s Pawn shop in June.

Sometime on June 14, between midnight and 6:30 a.m., someone used a vehicle to forcibly remove the front door of the business at 200 E. Madison. Once inside, a suspect or suspects removed a padlock from a cabinet and took numerous pieces of jewelry and an undetermined amount of cash.

Police officials said a passing citizen might have seen the door being removed at Sheldon’s.

The incident is the crime of the month for July.

The Ark City Police Department is asking for assistance from anyone who may have information about this crime. Cowley County Crime Stoppers Inc. offers rewards of up to $1000 for information that leads to the arrest of people committing criminal acts.
