Chris Cannon, Department Chair of Health & Human Services and Director of EMS Education, taught a HeartSaver class to eight members of the Morton Buildings Inc. safety team Monday morning at Strother Field in Winfield.

Morton Buildings Inc. is a manufacturer and distributor of wood and metal buildings.

The class covered adult CPR choking emergencies, and automated external defibrillator usage.

Cannon is a CPR instructor and Basic Life Support Regional Faculty Member for the American Heart Association.

“High quality CPR can make the difference between life and death,” Cannon said. “The minutes before the ambulance arrives are crucial for survival for patients suffering cardiac arrest.”
