An Ark City home is being considered a total loss following a fire early Wednesday that caused extensive fire and heat damage.

Sometime after 5 a.m., fire crews were called to 1515 South H for the report of a house fire. The rental property is owned by Roger Brammer and valued by the county at $14,700.

The home is in an area known as Sleeth Addition. Fire officials said the cause of the fire was electrical.

Occupants of the residence were able to escape mostly unharmed. One minor injury was reported, but that person refused transport to the hospital.
