A Winfield man died Sunday morning, near Leoti in western Kansas, from injuries sustained when his semi truck overturned on a county road.
58-year-old Roger Chattam was transported to the Wichita County Health Center, where he later died as a result of injuries. The accident occurred around 11:15 a.m., according to information from the office of the Wichita County Sheriff.
Emergency personnel were sent to the accident at County Road G, two-tenths of mile east of County Road 24. The accident site is several miles northwest of Leoti.
The semi had a tandem trailer loaded with and hauling silage. Chattam was eastbound on the highway and appeared to rollover one-and-a-half times. No additional information on a cause was provided.
A friend of the man said Chattam was a longtime local resident and had driven trucks for sometime.
