Local authorities Saturday night broke up a small drinking party near Ark City, according to a weekend report from the Cowley County Sheriff’s Dept.

Deputies received information regarding the party around 10:05 p.m. and arrived in the 2000 block of Radio Lane to find what was described as a small gathering. Two juveniles were taken into custody for consuming or possessing alcohol.

They were later released into the custody of their parents. Avery S. Correia, 19, Mulvane, was cited for possession and, or, consumption. 19-year-old Devon D. James, 19, and Andy Ray Large, 34, both of Ark City, were arrested for hosting minors consuming alcohol.

Both had bond set at $1,000, posted it and were released a short time later, according to jail records.
