The Arkansas City Fire-EMS Department has announced the addition of an ambulance, with a refurbished patient compartment, to the ambulance service fleet.

During the refurbishing process the patient compartment was removed from an existing ACFD ambulance and placed onto a 2013 Ford chassis.

The patient compartment was improved by replacing current electronics, wiring, lighting, and repairing broken components found during the process.

This is the second refurbished ambulance ACFD has completed and local officials are finding the program to be very beneficial and cost efficient.

The refurbished ambulance provides a quality and safe environment for paramedics, EMTs, and patients, while cutting the cost of a new ambulance by nearly 50 percent.

ACFD is committed to providing the highest level of training and equipment for staff to facilitate the highest level of patient care possible. Those seeking more information about fire safety at home or services offered by Arkansas City Fire-EMS should contact the Arkansas City Fire Department at 620-441-4430.
