A local man has received six-months probation for charges related to a standoff in a Winfield neighborhood that occurred earlier this month.

Brandon M. Reynolds, 29, Winfield, pleaded guilty to charges of maintaining a public nuisance and disorderly conduct, both misdemeanors. He entered the plea during his first appearance on the charges.

Court officials said it is uncommon but not unheard of for cases to be settled during an initial appearance.

Reynolds was arrested the afternoon of Oct. 1 following an hours-long incident that led to authorities blocking off a section of E. Ninth in Winfield.

Winfield Police said Reynolds was ex military and had been suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder.

Reynolds was said to have fired shots as the incident began and that led police to his residence.
