Rent-a-Center has taken over the former Colortyme location on Summit in Ark City.

Maria Hernandez, who spent about a year with Colortyme before the switch was made, is the store manager. Hernandez replaces Melvin Lucas, who will run Helping Hands Quick Cash.

Hernandez said the changeover was official just over a week ago. There will be no change for those who were previously Colortyme customers.

The store at 2135 N. Summit is offering some brands not previously offered and has some lower prices, she said.

Hernandez said the previous owner was nearing retirement and decided to let Rent-a-Center take over the Ark City location.

A Colortyme location in Ponca City has closed and those operations have been absorbed into the Rent-a-Center there.
