Safe Homes Inc. will soon host its first-ever Tacky Ball to benefit the organization, which aids survivors of sexual and domestic violence.

The event is set for 6:30 p.m. Nov. 2 at the Agri-Business Building in Ark City. Wear your tackiest fashions for the event, which will run until 11 p.m. Tickets are on sale now at $15 each or two for $25 and can be purchased by calling the Safe Homes office at (620) 221-7079.

Ticket prices include table reservations, but chairs will have to be rented for a small fee Ė now thatís tacky. The fun-filled event will include a DJ and dance, live and silent auctions, mystery prizes and more.

A cash bar and Big and Smallís BBQ will also be available.

So what do you wear to a Tacky Ball? The rule is - the more outrageous the better. Any combination of stripes, polka dots, and plaid will work, and bling is always best. A panel of mystery judges will choose the best costumes and crown the first-ever Tacky Ball King and Queen.

Anyone who attends the Tacky Ball without an outrageous costume will be able to accessorize at the door for a nominal fee Ė now thatís tacky.
