Two women were injured Wednesday afternoon in a two-vehicle collision on U.S. 166 Highway southeast of Dexter.

Around 3:05 p.m., a 2012 Chevy Impala, driven by 23-year-old Angela D. Partridge of Ark City, was westbound on 166 as it approached the highway’s intersection with 321st Rd. Jordan L. Clapp, a 21-year-old woman from Ponca City, was stopped on the highway waiting to turn south onto 321st in a 2010 Acura passenger car.

The Partridge vehicle struck the Clapp vehicle from behind, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol.

Partridge was taken to the hospital in Ark City and Clapp was transported to the hospital in Sedan. Their conditions were not available Thursday, however neither was thought to have suffered life-threatening injuries.

Radio communications from the scene indicated one of the women suffered a broken arm.

Both were wearing their seat belts, according to the highway patrol.
